I don’t think I’ve been obsessing with neon colors just because it’s this Spring’s trend. Why? I’ve realized that I always dress in neutrals (beige, black, brown, and gray are neutrals to me) and like to add a pop of color to my outfit. It helps for dreary, cold, and/or rainy days.

2012 Victoria’s Secret Haul…so far!

I really think I’m that much of a Victoria’s Secret fan that this is just a small snapshot of what I’ve bought within the last two months. It doesn’t include everything either. They should do a point system where you get free things for huge fans like me, haha! I’m not a huge fan of summer, but at least it has one perk: The Victoria’s Secret semi-annual sale! ;)

Meeting a Real-Life Angel: Candace Swanepoel

I cannot begin to describe to you the magical and chaotic night of March 22nd. I had just gotten off work and basically ran to my car to make my way to Northpark Mall in hopes of making it on time to meet my favorite supermodel and VS Angel, Candice Swanepoel. Much to my surprise, the one day I was in a hurry to do something so important to me, traffic reared it’s ugly head.

After an hour of bumper to bumper traffic from driving from downtown Dallas, I finally made it to the mall. Music was blaring and people were waiting in line. I met up with my bestie, Rachel, and we made our way to the front of the store. Even with all of the dozens of customers waiting in line and in the store, every sales associate I came in contact with was super-friendly and very attentive in making sure I was able to meet my idol while helping me find what I wanted.

After my best friend and I made our purchases, on our way out of the store to get in line, I was able to catch a glimpse of Candice holding a baby while the baby’s dad stood next to her to take a photo. How sweet!

We walked past dozens of girls with striped bags hanging on their arms and women with their boyfriends as they anxiously awaited their turn and passed the time by talking to a sweet mom and her adorable two year old little girl. After an hour wait, it was my turn. I wasn’t nervous because I have seen and read lots of her interviews and knew what kind of a person she was. She’s even more beautiful and sweet in person. She didn’t start the conversation by saying hi. Instead, she asked if she’s seen me somewhere before and if we have met. I told her, “No, but I follow you on Twitter if that counts.” and we laughed. She thanked me for my support and said she liked my lip color. We hugged and I wished her a safe flight home. Let me tell you, she was not intimdating at all and was definitely worth the hour traffic and wait! I was having a bad day and she definitely lifted my spirits that night. I hope to see her again someday. Who knows? I might be working with her in the future and we can become great friends!
